A Bastrop man was detained on Tuesday afternoon in connection with a double aggravated assault in Horseshoe Bay and following an 82-mile pursuit.

Johnathan Kirk, 34, was detained by Bastrop County authorities after a hunt that included Horseshoe Bay Police, Llano, Burnet and Bastrop County deputies as well as Marble Falls Police and Texas Rangers.

Horseshoe Bay Police said the assault occurred at 12:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Harbor Light Drive at a gated two-story home. Police said two women were injured and one was in “extremely serious” condition.

Dispatch reported at about 12:45 p.m. that a 40-year-old woman had suffered a knife laceration to her neck.
