REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONSVETERANS SERVICE OFFICER
BURNET COUNTY, TEXAS
Burnet County, Texas is seeking responses to a Request for Qualifications for the position of Veterans Service Officer. The work involves advising and assisting veterans or their beneficiaries in presenting claims for benefits under Federal, State or local laws. Work in cooperation with the Department of Veterans Affairs and other governmental agencies. Act as the county’s primary advocate for veterans and their eligible dependents. Provide consultation to Commissioners’ Court on veteran affairs. Maintain certification mandated under Section 434.038(a) of the Texas Government Code. Serve as the liaison between Burnet County and the VetRides program as long as the program is operational.
