Llano County Commissioners bought more time for fact-finding on a potential community garden Monday after removing the discussion item from its agenda.

Commissioners unanimously approved removing the item to get more input from the city.

Concerns include what liability the city has, what liability the county has and whether the site recommended by community garden organizers Chris Slade and Jannie Vaught by the South Commons is the best choice given that it is located within a flood plain.

Some of the commissioners expressed concern with whether the county would be opening itself up to potential problems if the garden moves forward in the county-owned downtown space, as opposed to a previously-suggested space near the Moore Sports Complex.
