Incredible scenery and dozens of recreational opportunities highlight the area.
People have lived near the confluence of the Llano and Colorado rivers for thousands of years, but only in the last blip of time have they built boat docks and launched jet skis from backyards fronting on a constant-level manmade lake.
Homes of all kinds in all price ranges can be found here, some in gated communities and others in casual developments cobbled together on Lake LBJ over the years.
Immaculate developments and spectacular new home construction have recently put a fresh face on the community, where settlers began building in 1877 and laid tracks for the Austin and Northwestern Railroad in 1892.
They celebrate life on Lake LBJ every Independence Day with Aqua Boom, a festival of fireworks and parades on land and water.
Some of Kingsland's best offerings, however, can be found outdoors. Lake LBJ, two golf courses and the natural terrain of the Hill Country make Kingsland a prime recreational home for fishermen, boaters, golfers, cyclists, campers and hikers. Outdoor enthusiasts and history buffs will find the twin-peaked Packsaddle Mountain and the Nightengale Archaeological Center rich sources of education and entertainment.
