Falls Career High School opened its doors in 2002 as a non-traditional alternative high school for at-risk students. About 50 high school-aged students are enrolled in the program at a teacher-to-student ratio of 8-to-1.

The school offers a combination of accelerated pace, independent study courses and teacher facilitated courses. Many students work and attend school concurrently. A student must be between 16 to 21 years of age, have a minimum 8 credit hours, and have special circumstances that make it difficult to attend a traditional high school in order to be accepted into the program.

The campus was considered "Academically Acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency under its accountability ratings in 2008-2009.

On TAKS exams, 63% of 11th-grade students met or exceeded standards in reading; in math, 50%, in social studies, 75%, and in science, 67%.

Falls Career will open its new home at 1800 Colt Circle in the fall of 2010.
