Red Top Jail funds in jeopardyMarch 05, 2013, 9:30 pm by Lyn Odom
State funds to renovate the Llano Red Top Jail may disappear July 1 if foundation work isn’t completed on time, the city council heard Monday night. "Masons started working today and there is a problem with asbestos,” Community Development Director Doris Messer said. "We need to get the underpinnings done or there will be no more grant money after July 1. Zack Webb with Sparks Engineering is optimistic we will be finished by May, but we could lose money if we don’t get it done on time. Sparks understands the timing and Frank (Rowell) has done a substantial amount of work he needs to get paid for.”
