Erma Mae Fickey, 86, of Kingsland died Saturday, March 16. She was born Sept.14, 1926 in St. Louis, Mo., to Maude (Siegenthaler) Edwards and Thomas T. Edwards. Erma had been a resident of Kingsland since 1975 and was a member of the Kingsland Community Church. She enjoyed playing games with friends at Lakewood Forest 3, loved taking charge of social activities and was a great southern cook.
Survivors include granddaughters Julie Bryant and husband Dan of Ruidoso, N.M. and Jamie Woods and husband Steven of San Diego, Calif., five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband Bob Turpin in 1992, second husband Lawrence Fickey in 2012, daughter Carolyn Sue Bilbry in 2008 and a sister.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at 1 p.m. at the Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Kingsland with Reverend John Woody officiating. Burial was at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park.
