CSCOPE researcher to present in Llano
April 24, 2013, 10:40 am by Alexandria Randolph
A free presentation on CSCOPE will be held at Inman’s Kitchen on Tuesday, May 7 at 6 p.m.
Jeanine "Ms. Mac” McGregor, an award winning educator, author and researcher will present her findings on the controversial curriculum program CSCOPE, which is currently being taught in 70 percent of Texas schools.
The CSCOPE program was called into question recently by the State Board of Education and the Texas Senate Education Committee. The Llano ISD Board of Trustees also recently launched a local CSCOPE review committee because of complaints and concerns raised by local citizens.
McGregor presented for the Highland Lakes Tea Party on Feb. 28 at the River City Grille in Marble Falls. People came from as far as Mason to hear the presentation, and the room was so filled with attendees that Tea Party members had to turn people away.
McGregor is an all level certified teacher and a State Board of Education Professional Provider. She is an accomplished speaker, having spoken at numerous conferences and association meetings on topics such as inspiring academic exceptionalism, enhancing memory, the importance of parental involvement and educating gifted, special needs and Hispanic children.
The presentation is free of charge. For more information, contact Bill Hussey at 325.423.1450. Inman’s Kitchen is located at 809 W Young.
