Frances Jordan Hyatt was born Oct. 15, 1933 in Bald Hill in Angelina County to Willie Mae and Paul Jordan. Her father was a Liquor Control Board Officer, and the family moved several times in her life, but when they moved to Llano that was to be her last move for about 50 years.
She met, fell in love with and married James Hyatt. Their love story ended in 1974 when James passed away. She continued to love and miss him every remaining day of her life.
Frances passed away Jan. 16, 2014 in Lufkin in Angelina County Texas, where it all began.
She worked at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home for 20-plus years and she loved her work. She also loved music and was an avid 42 player. She was an active member of the Methodist Church in Llano, and later the Homer Methodist Church in Lufkin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Willie Mae Jordan, husband James Hyatt, infant daughter Nancy Lynn and infant granddaughter Dalena Mae.
Left behind to mourn her passing and to celebrate her life are three daughters Sharon, Linda and husband Roger, Martha and husband Jim, and sister Helen who described her sister as "an exquisite and fragile butterfly and I will miss her deeply;” eight grandchildren Sundance and wife Chasity, Brieanna, James and fiancée Mandy, Rachel, Sarah, Bridgette, Jeremy and Heather, great grandchildren Brian, Brenna, Brylee, Anna Page, Chloe and future great grandson Kyler. Niece Amy and nephew Karl; and friends, both near and far, and too many to count.
A graveside service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19 at Llano City Cemetery with Rev. Rick Cundieff officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to charity or church homes.
Funeral arrangements were made under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. Llano, Texas. E-mail condolences may be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org.
