Texas Fall Fest this weekend

November 12, 2012, 9:00 pm by Alexandria Randolph

The 8th Annual Texas Fall Fest and Wine Auction will roll into Marble Falls and Horseshoe Bay this weekend.

The festival is a two-day celebration of the best wine and culinary delights from the Texas Hill Country.

Beginning on Friday, Nov. 16 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. guests will experience the Sunset Stroll Farm to Market Wine Fair at the Horseshoe Bay Yacht Club Ballroom. A marketplace of Hill Country wineries and Central Texas restaurants will be displaying their products as well as 17 artisan producers.

On Saturday Nov. 17 from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. the ‘Formula 1: Texas Wine and Food Trail’ will take place on Old Historic Main Street in Marble Falls with appetizers and wine pairings at five shops along the street; It’s All Goode!, Marta Stafford Fine Art, Smartie Pantz, G.G. Ganache and LaTiDa.

Later that evening at 6 p.m. at the Horseshoe Bay Resort Marriott Ballroom, a reception, wine dinner and auction will take place featuring celebrity chef Josh Watkins and renowned Horseshoe Bay Resort chef Gilbert Moore.

"These are star chefs in Texas. We’re thrilled to have Josh Watkins working with Moore,” said Susan Auler, owner of Fall Creek Vineyards in Tow, Texas and creator of the Texas Fall Fest.

The auction will feature 13 items such as a private six-hour chauffeured wine tour of Napa Valley or Sonoma County Wineries with three nights at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa, as well as a ride aboard an America’s Cup Yacht in San Diego’s Mission Bay, an overnight adventure package to the beautiful Canyon of the Eagles, a 20- person hiking excursion and picnic at Fall Creek Falls on Ed and Susan Auler’s private ranch, and other exclusive getaways.
