Marble Falls student dies from crash injuries
Mylie Ferguson

A Marble Falls High School student lost her life Wednesday morning as a result of injuries sustained in an accident on Mormon Mill Road Sunday.

Mylie Ferguson, 15 and a Marble Falls resident, passed away at about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning in University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin.

Marble Falls High School student Israel Guzman was reportedly also in the vehicle. According to a friend of the family, Ferguson and Guzman were taken to the Austin hospital, where Ferguson had been in critical condition until Wednesday morning and Guzman remains stable, but with substantial injuries.

Friends of the freshman student posted loving messages on her Facebook page and posted pictures using the phrase, "Keep Calm and Pray for Mylie.” Ferguson was a soccer player for Marble Falls High School.

Friends of the Ferguson family organized a benefit car wash and bake sale to be held on Saturday, Jan. 26 to help with the cost of Ferguson’s medical expenses. Support bands and T-shirts sporting the phrase "Pray for Mylie” and the verse Philippians 3:14 will be sold at the event.

The fundraiser will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Security State Bank and Trust on US 281 in Marble Falls.

Marble Falls High School Principal Manny Lunoff said that grievance counselors will be provided beginning Wednesday.

"The Marble Falls High school community suffered a tragic loss," said MFISD Spokesperson Bruce Peckover. "The thoughts and prayers of the entire Marble Falls High School community go out to her family. Mylie was a wonderful young woman who was a mustang through and through."
