Storms bring some rain to Highland LakesFebruary 10, 2013, 8:30 am by Phil Schoch
Thunderstorms early Sunday morning left up to 1.5 inches of rain in parts of the Highland Lakes. Buchanan Dam and Kingsland recorded the highest totals, according to the Lower Colorado River Authority rain gauges.
Sunday's high is expected to get to 73 degrees with winds from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph. The forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies Sunday night with a chance of rain after midnight. The overnight low is expected to get to 46 degrees. There's a 40 percent chance of rain on Monday with high of 63 and a low of 48.
Rainfall totals for the 24 hours recorded at 8 a.m. by the LCRA were:
Buchanan Dam: 1.54
Kingsland: 1.5
Backbone Creek at Marble Falls: 1.19
Burnet: .60
Tow: .40
Lake LBJ at 1431 bridge: .19
Llano River at Llano: .10
Llano SSE: .86
Lake LBJ at Sandy Harbor: 1.13
Round Mountain: .94
Willow City: 1.01
Spicewood: .36
