CASA gala raises funds for foster care
Horseshoe Bay residents Jeff Robinson, Sharon Tomnitz and her husband, Michael Tomnitz, enjoy the masquerade at Saturday’s CASA of the Highland Lakes Area Gala.

Area residents, public officials and business owners gathered at Lakeside Pavilion Saturday night for CASA for the Highland Lakes Area’s annual gala, a masquerade to raise funds for the organization that serves children in foster care.

Guests showed up in colorful masks as part of the evening’s theme, "Children’s faces – no longer hidden.” In addition to sipping wine and enjoying gourmet food, and dancing to the tunes of The Lone Star Swing Orchestra, patrons got the chance to bid in both a silent and live auction throughout the night, all to raise money for CASA.

"About 50 percent of CASA’s funding comes from fundraising,” said Deborah Morris, a member of the CASA Board of Directors and the fundraising chair. "Without the community’s support, we would not be able to advocate for the children in this area that need our attention.”
