PEC chief Sloan to resign March 15
CEO RB Sloan

RB Sloan, chief executive officer of the Pedernales Electric Cooperative, will step down from his position March 15 after the Board of Directors accepted his resignation Monday.

Sloan has served as the CEO for two years.

The announcement was made at the end of the Board of Directors meeting Monday afternoon. Frank Skube, current PEC chief financial officer, will be appointed interim CEO on March 15, according to the board.

Sloan said a factor in his decision to resign was fatigue in the face of actions by District 4 Director Chris Perry. In their January meeting, the board reprimanded Perry over his introduction of resolutions on customer choice, or allowing PEC customers to shop for lower prices. They said the resolutions – which were tabled – were out of line after the board had already voted to wait until staff had completed research on the controversial matter.
