One hospitalized in weekend accidents

February 17, 2013, 11:10 am by Adam Troxtell

A one-vehicle accident on 1431 sent one man to the hospital early Sunday morning, but 10 people escaped injury Sunday afternoon in a traffic accident on TX 71 that involved four cars.

At around 2:30 a.m., first-responders were called to the accident east of Marble Falls just outside the city limits. One man was airlifted to an Austin hospital, Marble Falls Fire Rescue Capt. Coy Guenther said. His condition is unknown at this time.

Marble Falls Fire Rescue responded to assist Marble Falls Area Volunteer Fire Department. Texas Department of Public Safety, Burnet County Sheriffs, Marble Falls Police, and Marble Falls Area EMS also responded to the accident.

At around 2:45 p.m., first responders were called to the intersection of TX 71 and CR 401 where a silver compact car, a white Ford SUV, a maroon Ford truck and a wrecker lay totaled. According to State Trooper Jose Colombo, while traveling westbound on TX 71 a silver compact car attempting to turn left on to CR 401was rear ended by a Jerry’s Texan Towing wrecker. The car spun into the eastbound lane where it was hit by the Ford truck and SUV.

Colombo said there were no injuries sustained in the crash, and the driver of the wrecker was issued a citation for failing to stop.
