Las Vegas hopefuls rope this weekend
Many a buckin’ bronc and bull did their best to unseat cowboys at the old rodeo arena located at the Llano Community Center on Highway 152 just west of town. The old arena has been demolished and paved the way for the new Llano Events Center that is just across the street at 2200 Highway 152 West and that is booked every weekend for the rest of the year with a variety of events. There is a Llano Events Center page on the Llano Chamber of Commerce website at www.llanochamber.org.

The World Series of Team Roping, or WSTR, Qualifier comes to Llano this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, March 15-17, welcoming professional ropers from all over Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Nevada, Wyoming and several other states where cowboys are born and bred.

The Llano Events Center, located at 2200 Highway 152 W, is the place to be to see some of the best team roping in the world.

Paybacks are 80 percent, and with sponsors such as Cactus Saddlery, Heel-O-Matic, Priefert, Resistol, Ariat, Gist, and Bloomer Trailers, just to name a few, you can bet the stakes are big and lead to the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas in December.
