Burn ban off for now

Llano County Commissioners Monday removed the countywide burn ban and discussed continuing to monitor wind conditions and if necessary calling a special meeting to reinstate it should there be an emergency.

The burn ban will be on the next agenda March 25, as it has been for months due to the current drought and often-windy conditions.

"Burn cautiously,” County Judge Wayne Brascom said.

Commissioners also passed a resolution to support a bill to create refund deposits for plastic bottles and glass. "We support this conceptually,” Brascom said. "The charge will be at the vendor level and will be inclusive for the refundable deposit.”
