City council hears electric water meter proposal

Llano City Council Monday heard a presentation regarding electronic meter equipment and awarded the bid for a water aeration system improvement project.
Jonathan Blackwell of the company LEED AP told council members that after conducting a report on numerous existing water meters in Llano, the results showed these meters were only 65 percent accurate.
"Our meters will be more accurate and in the ground for 20 years,” he said.
Blackwell explained that the project would replace all existing residential and commercial water meters with Sensus iPERL, which he said is 100 percent lead free, and Omni water meters. He said they would also replace the electric meters with Sensus AMI.
