A Jacksonville man formerly wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred last week in Temple is no longer a suspect after authorities had alerted surrounding counties to watch for him on the road, according to Temple Police.
Joshua Mims, 25, was cleared as a suspect in a shooting that occurred on Thursday, June 27 in Temple after meeting with Temple Police, police said.
"He came in and spoke with us. He had an alibi,” said Temple Police Capt. Christopher Wilcox.
Police issued an alert to surrounding counties, including Burnet and Llano to watch for Mims and his vehicle because they believed that he was traveling in the area.
He is no longer wanted by authorities.
Temple Police said that there has not been another suspect apprehended, but that the investigation is still ongoing.
