Llano County Commissioners continue burn ban

Llano County Commissioners on Monday kept the burn ban in place and stressed the importance of people in the county following this policy.
"I think things have gotten more dire than they were before,” Commissioner Linda Raschke, Precinct 2, said. "The wind is blowing pretty hard and there have been some significant fires.”
In particular, commissioners noted fires on undeveloped properties as well as homes, such as the house fire in Tow on Friday that claimed the life of former volunteer firefighter Ron Sanderson.
Commissioner Peter Jones, Precinct 1, noted conditions were getting drier almost by the day.
County Judge Wayne Brascom has monitored the weather and said aside from a little rain Monday, there is little precipitation expected for the next week. He also noted that Lake Travis is at the lowest mark since 1963.
