After six consecutive terms and 30 years of service as a Llano County employee, Betty Sue Hoy said Thursday she would not seek re-election as county clerk.
Instead, Hoy will retire in December 2014 at the end of her term.
"I have absolutely loved my job and enjoyed
serving the residents of Llano County,” she said. "It is with mixed emotions
that I have made the decision to retire, and I look forward to spending more
time with my awesome husband Lynn and with my family.”
A lifelong resident of Llano, Hoy started as a deputy clerk in the early 1980s.
