LCRA’s Garwood vote gets new look

Tim Timmerman said Thursday in an email response to questions from the Highland Lakes Newspapers regarding the vote at the Aug. 14 board meeting that the directors will hold a special meeting Tuesday to discuss the issue.
"It was not my intent to support a vote that would send inflows that enter into the Highland Lakes to downstream interests as run-of-river water,” Timmerman said. "We
have received a lot of questions about that particular vote.
"To provide further clarification and direction to staff, we intend to discuss this at a special board meeting next Tuesday. Until then, staff has suspended contracting for additional supplemental water within Garwood.”
Highland Lakes newspapers Monday emailed questions about the August vote to all 15 LCRA board members, including Burnet County director John Franklin and Llano County directors Ray Gill and Buddy Schrader, but only Timmerman responded.
