Senator urges group to stay united

Sen. Donna Campbell braved the inclement weather Thursday night to update the Llano Tea Party on the senate’s recent activities and discuss her future plans for the state.
Campbell is a former emergency room doctor who defeated incumbent Republican Senator Jeff Wentworth in July 2012. Her 25th district in the Texas Senate represents all of Comal, Guadalupe, Hays and Kendall Counties, as well as portions of northern Bexar and southern Travis Counties.
While addressing the Tea Party, the mother of four stressed the value of gathering in groups in order to "work against the machine in Washington D.C.” The problem, she explained, is conservatives are losing the message war.
"The democrats have a poor product that they wrap in a good message,” she said. "We (conservatives) have good ideals, we stand on the constitution, but we just don’t know how to sell it.”
