Two injured in two-car crash on TX 29

A man and his five-year-old granddaughter were transported
to area hospitals after they were injured in a two-vehicle crash on TX 29 Thursday.
The crash happened at
approximately 4:45 p.m. as the two vehicles, a van and a late-model sport
utility vehicle, were traveling west on TX 29 between Burnet and Bertram.
The driver of the van had stopped to make a left turn onto CR 304 when the vehicle was struck from behind by the SUV, DPS trooper Shannon Simpson said.
The driver of the SUV told Texas Department
of Public Safety officers working the accident that he became distracted and
turned to look at his granddaughter just before the crash, Simpson said.
The girl was transported to Dell Children’s Hospital in Austin
and the driver of the SUV was taken to Seton Williamson County Hospital in Round Rock with undisclosed injuries.
