Incumbent 424th Judicial District Judge Dan Mills has a significant money advantage over challenger Evan Stubbs after reporting $51,351 in campaign contributions in the last six months of 2013.
Mills, who is seeking a third four-year term, added contributions from July 1-Dec. 31, 2013 to the $42,409 he reported at the end of the previous period, bumping his campaign fund up to $93,760.
He reported expenditures of $18,882, leaving him with $72,882 on hand for the remainder of the campaign.
The primary election is March 4 and early voting starts Tuesday, Feb. 18.
Stubbs reported campaign contributions of $24,988 after deciding to enter the race Sept. 12.
He also reported $15,147 in expenditures, leaving him with $11,060 in his campaign fund.
Mills, Stubbs and other local political candidates undoubtedly will continue to attempt to raise campaign funds until the election.
