Too little too late. The LCRA has blown it big time this year. A no water conservation entity that needs to be investigated along with the Texas legislators that work for us that approve such wasteful water practices. With a great chance of Austin and central Texas running out of bath and drinking water next year this whole mess will be exposed to the public. I guess Austins businesses can just shut down too from lack of this precious commodity ,water. At least the farmers that farm in a waste land will have their crops of rice so it can be sold to China. Enough said the people of central Texas need to wake up to the handling of our water.

A few more comments on the waste of the peoples of Central Texas water. The LCRA needs to change its foundation values and it needs to be done now while there is still some water in the highland lakes. Being a 4.5 billion $ entity why isnt money spent to maintain the lakes especially Buchanan which is 30% full of gravel and sand which has washed down the river channel thru the years. The water acre feet they think the lake holds is far from what they think it is.Why are dredges not at work on Buchanan? Why spend all the money on a worthless boat ramp that was not engineered correctly which cant be used in low lake level times. Buchanan dam was built to produce electricity when needed and not sell water a practice which started in the early 60s when the LCRA made a mistake of getting in the water business near the coast . Buchanan dam was built with US tax payers money back in the 30s under FDRs work plan after the initial construction company went under. This dam and water belong to the tax payers not the LCRA. Why has there not been any thought of aqua ducts being built from the Missouri river in the northern states or the Mississippi river both which flood almost yearly. California and Nevada has done this and it works even though they are draining Lake Mead. Why not refine the water from the Gulf of Mexico into clean water as the hundreds of cruise ships do. China is smart building the Swart Zneger Dam so their water supplies do not run out. They actually conserve water and are opposite of the LCRAs wasteful practices. The LCRA it appears will not know what hit them until the water runs out which appears to be soon. By the way the two LCRA board members that I believe live in Llano county which is out of any water resources seem to have their head in the mud if they voted for this waste of 380000 acre feet of water so the farmers in the waste land near the coast could make 2 crops this year. Time will tell .Will it rain or not? Will the peoples lakes of Central Texas survive? Wake up tax payers and voters of Central Texas Your water supply is drying up.
