Miller terminated as GShoals CM
Judy Miller
In a special meeting Thursday night, the Granite Shoals City Council exercised a contract option to terminate the city manager at the end of a year.
Council members unanimously voted in favor of the decision and approved delivering to City Manager Judy Miller a letter immediately suspending her duties as chief operating officer.
Miller, who was not present at the meeting Thursday, will receive pay and benefits through Feb. 7, but she has been required to return work material immediately and remove personal items by Jan. 15.
The decision followed a three hour executive session, however it was not the first identified on an agenda as a review of the city's administrative and financial staff. When citizens noticed the first such review on an agenda in May, speculation began. Citizens, both supporting Miller's professionalism and hard work and others complaining of unresponsiveness, stepped up to the podium during public comment portions of Council meetings.

I've been waiting for this for a long, long time. I'm proud of our Mayor and City Council for getting this done.
