Llano knocked out of playoff contention

Cierra Jordan scored 17 points and had eight rebounds to lead the Llano Lady Jackets against Burnet Friday night at Burnet in District 8-3A girls basketball action.

The 48-34 loss eliminates Llano from playoff contention.

Sarah Hasty had eight points and Jessica Wunderlich had four points and was strong inside with eight rebounds. Claire Williams also played well for the Lady Jackets.

Burnet pulled away with a 13-5 run in the third quarter.

Burnet is 7-2 in district and18-11 overall while Llano dips to 3-6 and 13-22.

Riana Bond had 15 points to lead Burnet.

In the boys game, Burnet controlled its hold on first place in the district with a 47-37 win at Burnet High School.

Llano boys are are 2-5 in district and 15-15 overall.

Burnet is 6-1 in district play and 16-9 overall.

Kohner Fogleberg had a strong game from 3-point range in the third quarter to help th Yellow Jackets scratch back into the game.
