Faith Academy puts itself in driver's seat

Faith Academy rolled to a big first half lead and beat the Texas School for the Deaf, 33-12, Friday night in Marble Falls.

The Flames’ Brian Freeman continues his dominance, scoring on runs of 27 and 82 yards in the game.

Jason Byrd added a 19-yard touchdown run and Austin Ellis scored from one yard out. Seth McAnally added a one-yard dive play for the final score with 3:54 left in the second quarter. Freeman kicked the 33^rd point.

"They were the district favorites, so we fell good about where we are now,’’ Faith Academy coach Russell Roberts said. "This puts us in the driver’s seat.’’

The Flames are 7-0 on the field this season and also picked up a forfeit this week with the Giddings State School forfeited the remainder of its games.

With the forfeit, Faith Academy is 8-0 overall and 3-0 in its TAPPS district.

They play Texas Christian at Waco next week and then close with Central Texas Christian at Temple on Nov. 2.
