BHS grad McGee signs with Texans

Former Burnet High School quarterback Stephen McGee, who was released from the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys after the 2012 pre-season, signed a contract with the Houston Texans on Thursday.

McGee was one of eight players to sign reserve/future contracts with the Texans.

The Cowboys released McGee in September 2012, and he has been out of the league until now. He was the Cowboy’s fourth round draft pick in 2009.

As the Cowboy’s third-string quarterback, he only played three regular season games, completing 46 of 82 pass attempts for a total of 420 gained yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions.
