He served in the United States Navy on the USS Hornet; was a deacon of Star Baptist Church in
Star, Texas; and worked as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by his wife Sharon Emdy of Burnet; daughter Darla Schmidt of Goldthwaite, Texas; sister Brenda Standifer; brothers Mike Emdy and Glenn Emdy; grandchildren Tyler Schmidt and Tanner Schmidt; and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and
grandparents.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m. in Star at the Star Baptist Church. Interment will be at Hurst Ranch Cemetery near Star.
