Ruel Victor Stone Nov. 11, 1909 ~ Dec. 4, 2012
Ruel Victor "R.V.” Stone, 103, passed away Dec. 4, 2012.
He was born Nov. 11, 1909 in Mosheim, Coryell County, Texas to Martin C. and Julia Cobb Stone.
On Jan. 17, 1935 he was married to Eavie Irene Johnson and they had celebrated 80 years of marriage before her death on June 16, 2012.
The couple started married life on their farm then moved to Houston where he delivered milk. He decided he wanted more, so he went into construction and became a contractor. He was a deacon in the First Baptist Church of Burnet, where he donated his expertise as a contractor for the sanctuary.
They enjoyed a varied life. They loved to travel in their motor home, go fishing and were generous with their home grown fruit and garden items. He loved to sing to Eavie. His Bible was full of clippings of stories and jokes. He also knew how to save money on hearing aid batteries, which friends laughed about.
Stone is survived by a nephew and nieces and many friends.
Services will be held Friday, Dec. 7 at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Burnet with Rev. Dr.
Jim Morrow and Rev. Dr. Ricky Guenther officiating.
Interment will follow at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park near Burnet. Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Condolences may be offered at www.clementswilcoxburnet.com.
