Nancy Gosselink Dec. 8, 1941 ~ Dec. 1, 2012
Nancy Gosselink, 70, of Willis, Texas, passed away in her home on Dec. 1.
Gosselink was born on Dec. 8, 1941 in Wichita Falls, Texas to Pat and Lloyd Swift.
She is preceded in death by her father Lloyd Swift. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, John A. Gosselink; sons John Gosselink Jr. and Peter Gosselink; daughter-in-laws Sarah Gosselink and Amy Van Dorfy; grandchildren Julia Grace, Tess Faith, Elin Elizabeth and John Gosselink, III; mother Pat Swift; sisters Patty Stansbury and Heidi Abel; brothers Jon Swift and David (Boe) Swift; and a huge family of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles and many close friends.
Gosselink spent her working life teaching school at Spring Woods High School in Spring Branch, Texas, where both of her sons attended. Following her retirement, she was active in The Women’s Club, Book Club and a variety of other functions at Point Aquarius on Lake Conroe. She and her husband were active supporters of youth in several churches, supporting the summer youth musical of First Presbyterian Church Smithville for years, two food banks and their home church in Willis. Gosselink "Nana” was the cornerstone of the entire Gosselink family.
There will be a Memorial Celebration service held at the First Methodist Church, 200 N. Thomason, Willis with Pastor Mark Woodward officiating at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8. Casual dress preferred for the relaxed celebration atmosphere.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: First Methodist Church, P.O. Box 315, Willis, Texas 77378. Please specify that the memorial is to be used for the Youth programs of the Church.
