Hal E. Stafford Nov. 14, 1940 ~ Jan. 1, 2013December 21, 2012, 9:06 am by Staff Reports Hal Eric Stafford, Jr., 72, of Plantersville, Texas, died Jan. 1. He was born to Hal E. and Margaret (Trusedale) Stafford on November 14, 1940 in Alice, Texas. Stafford proudly served in the U.S. Air Force, after that he was a trucker for the rest of his life - he enjoyed the road. He is survived by wife Barbara Stafford of Plantersville; sisters Katherine and husband Wayne Barnes of Hot Springs, Ark., and Bettye Martin of Lafayette, La.; step-children Sharon Anderson and husband Dean Nead of Plantersville, Cheryl and husband Rodney Myers of Jacksonville, Fla., Eric Anderson of Venice, Texas, and Michael Anderson and companion Debra of Spring, Texas; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A visitation will be held at the Highland Lakes Methodist Church in Buchanan Dam on RR 1431 and TX 29, on Saturday, Jan. 5 at 9:30 a.m. Funeral services will be at the church at 1 p.m. Burial will be at the Fenders Cemetery in Many, La., on Monday, Jan. 7 at 10 a.m. An online guest register may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.
