Frances M. Porter July 24, 1942 ~ Jan. 8, 2013
Frances Marie Wallace Porter, 70, of Lampasas, died Tuesday Jan. 8 at Gateway Gardens in Marble Falls.
She was born July 24, 1942 in Brownwood to Elmer Lowell Wallace and Erma Frances (Brown) Wallace. She graduated High School in Denver City and went on to attend beauty school. On Aug. 8, 1964, she married R.B. Porter in Denver City. Porter later became a Justice of the Peace and served as such for 26 years in Lampasas County. She spent most of her adult life in Lampasas and was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughter Susan White and husband Terry of Marble Falls; sons Darrell Porter of Tyler, and Bryan Porter and wife Heather of Lampasas; and grandchildren Mackenzie, Connor, Layton, Kennady, and Marisa.
Porter was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Eugene Wallace.
Funeral services for Porter will be held on Friday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church in Lampasas; burial will follow at Nix Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10 from 6-8 p.m. at the Sneed Funeral Chapel in Lampasas.
Memorials may be made to the Order of the Eastern Star or the Nix Cemetery. Sneed Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
