Visitation will be Tuesday, Jan. 15, from 7-9 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Brady. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Rest Haven Cemetery in Brady. Nixon was born on Jan. 30, 1931, in Ranger, Texas, to William McKinley Obel and Margaret Alexandria (Bzson) Obel. She married Lawrence A. Nixon on Nov. 15, 1958, in Odessa. She was a member of the Mother of Sorrow Catholic Church in Burnet. She loved fishing and, over the years, spent many weekends camping and fishing at Brady Lake with friends and family. She was a homemaker and an excellent cook – no one could leave her home hungry. Nixon loved holidays, especially Christmas, and would go all out decorating and cooking. She especially loved her family and spoiled her grandchildren and great-grandchildren every chance she got. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Nixon is survived by husband Lawrence A. Nixon of Eden; son Eliot Nixon and wife Dianna of Burnet; sister Margaret Ann Obel of Eden; grandchildren Thomas Kennedy, Deonna Breeden, Kristina Reyes, Courtney Lambert, Sandra Nixon, and Whitney Nixon; nine great-grandchildren with two more on the way; nephew Ray Kent Livingston; and niece Patricia Howard.
