G. Dale Singleton June 26, 1945 ~ Jan. 15, 2013
G. Dale Singleton, 67, of Bertram and Dallas, passed away Jan. 15, surrounded by family and friends. He had bravely fought and confronted cancer.
Singleton was born June 26, 1945, in Kingsville, Texas, to the late Vernice Bell and James Quitman Singleton.
He is survived by wife Syann Ruble Singleton; son Jeff Singleton of Houston; son Greg Singleton and wife Laura of Dallas; and sister Dorothy Singleton Coe Strausz and husband Ed of Pearland. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brother James Quitman Singleton, Jr.
Singleton grew up in Bishop, Texas, graduating in 1963. He then enrolled in the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity and graduated in 1968 with a degree in chemical engineering. In September 1968, Singleton entered the U.S. Army, attended OCS, and was commissioned as an Engineer Officer. He served a combat tour in Vietnam from 1970-1971, where he was awarded two Bronze Star Medals. He served another 20 years in the U.S. Army Reserves, was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal, and retired with the rank of Major. At the time of his death, Singleton was managing partner of Costar Midstream, L.L.C. He was a founding partner of Star Natural Gas, Tristar Gas Co. and Endevo, Inc.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Jan 19 at Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church, 8525 Audelia Road, Dallas. A private interment will be held at a later date.
