She was born in Roswell, N.M. on Oct. 31, 1954 to Edna Jean (Morris) Bowen and Lloyd Wallace Bowen. Brenda married Sydney Sutton in 1999 at Lake Tahoe, Nev. She loved NASCAR and enjoyed riding horses, traveling and fishing. Sutton had been a resident of Tow for the past four years, since moving here from Bakersfield, Calif.
Survivors include husband Sydney Sutton of Tow; daughter Lacey O’Neal and husband Marcus van der Lee of Tucson, Ariz.; sons Zak Sutton of Riverside, Calif., Kelby O’Neal of Bakersfield, and Caleb O’Neal of Bakersfield; brothers Keith Bowen and Dean Bowen of Bakersfield; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and infant brother Travis Wayne Bowen. Funeral services was held Friday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Tow First Baptist Church with Reverend Jerald Moore officiating, and burial followed at the Tow Cemetery.
