Charlie Ashford
Charlie Ashford of Marble Falls passed away Jan. 26 at his home. He was born Feb. 7, in Alva, Okla., to Charles and Virginia (Williams) Ashford.
He was born a hard worker often telling stories about working in a bowling alley and having a newspaper route at a very young age. He was a painter by trade and owned Charlie’s Painting and Drywall for over 30 years in the Hill Country. He worked daily until this last year when he became ill. He was as passionate about his work as he was about his family.
Ashford helped many people in his community – and was always proud that he could.
He is survived by wife Cindi; daughter Grayce Catherine; stepsons Wyatt and Jesse Grumbles; sons Corky Ashford, Mike Miller and Louie Ashford all of Oklahoma; daughter Debbie Botteroff of Oklahoma; sisters Wilma Jean Brickell of Arkansas and Juanita Kustich of California; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2 at Marble Falls First Baptist Church, 501 12th Street with Bro. Max Copeland officiating. Memorial gifts may be sent to the Marble Falls Helping Center, 1315 Broadway St., Marble Falls, Texas 78654.
Arrangements entrusted to Clements Wilcox Funeral Home in Marble Falls. Online condolences may be made at www.clementswilcoxfuneralhome.com.
