Services for Santos Barron Contreras, 65, of Burnet, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Edgar Funeral Home in Burnet.
Contreras was born on June 11, 1947 in Lampasas, to Domingo G. Contreras and Marcia Barron Burkhalter, and passed from this life on Feb. 16 in Burnet.
He married Juaquina Cortinez on June 11, 1973. He furthered his education after high school at Cisco Junior College receiving a degree in auto mechanics and then set out starting his own business repairing automobiles which he did most all his life while living in Lampasas, Throckmorton, Breckenridge, Graham, Abilene and Burnet.
He is survived by wife Jacquina Contreras; children Kim and Kasey House, Joe and Monica Contreras, and Casey Contreras; grandchildren Douglas Contreras, Mikey House, Jordon Contreras, Angel Contreras, Matthew Contreras and Abigail Contreras; mother Marcia Barron Burkhalter; sisters Martha Palmer, Connie Escamilla, Hope Fowlds and Janie Heartlib; nieces and nephews Ernie Contreras, John Contreras, Stephen Contreras Jr., Valerie Al, Alex Contreras, John Cortez, Mellissa, Patty Escamilla, Patrick Escamilla, Gregory Fowlds, Zachary Fowlds, Marissa Heartlib, Karl Matthew Heatlib, Jimmy Parrish, Michelle Walker, Michael Parrish, Annette, Jeffery Gulley, Mellissa Loudamy, Charlie Cortinez, Francisco "Casper” Cortinez, Timothy Cortinez, Diana Cortinez, Marty Salas, Joe Salas, David Salas, Angela Salas, and Amy Salas.
He was preceded in death by siblings Casey Contreras, Domingo Contreras, Alejandro Contreras and David Contreras.
