Johanna K. Krause April 28, 1922 ~ Feb. 28, 2013

Johanna Katherine Louise Krause was born on April 28, 1922 in Koblenz, Germany to Carl J. & Hewich L. Miller. When she was two weeks old she was brought to the U.S. and spent most of her childhood in Minnesota. She died on Thurs., Feb. 28 at Sunset Nursing Home, Concordia, Kan. at the age of 90.
She married Merlin Krause on Sept. 26, 1942 in Minnesota. She was a homemaker and a cashier at various gas stations. She was formally a resident of Marble Falls and a long- time member of the First Baptist Church under Brother Max Copeland. She came to Concordia, Kan. nine years ago and lived at the Sunset Nursing Home where she looked forward to bible study every Thursday with Bob Burns. She had a sweet soul that could calm the most aggressive waters and was always a joy to be around. She has truly touched many lives and will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Lavoie, Concordia, and Sheila Crosslin and husband Jeff, Houston; grandchildren Cassie Hanson, Candi Hanson and Natasha Lavoie, all of Texas, Danny Lavoie and wife Katie, Concordia; four great-grandchildren in Texas, three great-grandchildren in Concordia; one great-great-granddaughter in Texas; brother, Jerry Miller and wife Marilyn of Lakeville, Minn.; sister, Gertrude Ehlers and several nieces and nephews in Minnesota. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son-in-law, Ted, five sisters, one brother and great-grandson Hunter Russell Collins.
The family selected cremation and memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, March 8 at Sunset Nursing Home in the Sun Room, with Pastor Bob Burns officiating.  Burial will be at a later date in Minnesota. There will be no visitation.
