Fred Spencer, Jr May 25, 1933 ~ March 4, 2013.
Fred Spencer, Jr. 79, of Meadowlakes, passed away March 4. He was born to Fred and Marguerite (Radka) Spencer on May 25, 1933 in Glidden, Texas. Mr. Spencer proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He married Nancy K. Stone in Fort Worth on Aug. 27, 1965. Fred was a retired salesman for the Quaker Oats Company and International Playtex Company. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Marble Falls Senior Center and a volunteer at the Marble Falls Library Thrift Store. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and his grandchildren. Fred is survived by his wife, Nancy Spencer of Meadowlakes; daughter, Christy D. Dunavant of Meadowlakes; son, Rusty Spencer of Corpus Christi;, seven grandchildren and one great-grandson; sisters Marguerite Rogers, Annette Reus and Delores Ludolph, all of San Antonio, Joann Brechtle of LaVernia, Texas, and Linda Smith of Carrollton, Texas; nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Herman, Bobby and Johnny Spencer. Visitations was held at the Putnam Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral Services were held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Marble Falls on Thursday, March 7 at 10 a.m. Burial will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio on Tuesday, March 12 at 2:30 p.m. An online guest register may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.
