Ervin Earl Freitag

Earl was born April 17, 1924 in Bee Cave, Texas to Ernest and Bessie Phillips Freitag. He attended various county schools. He started working while just a child. He was in the CCC until he became a soldier. He fought in Europe in the 9th Infantry and was awarded the Silver Star, Bronze Star, Two purple Hearts, Combat infantryman Badge in addition to the usual medals.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Elmo, Wesley and Robert and sisters; Blanche Maddox, Edna Teague and Loree Wagner.
He is survived by his loving wife Martha of 67 years and sons; Fred Freitag and wife Linda, Paul Freitag and wife Shelly and David Freitag and daughter, Denise Downs and husband Tom and grandchildren, Kim Lucas and husband Sean, Farrah Freitag, Sarah Figer and husband Adrian, Karah Falke and husband Chris, Ryan Freitag, Derek Freitag and wife Chalise, Caitlyn Freitag; 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
