Mack “Mae” Olen Gray

Mack "Mac” Olen Gray, 86, of Floresville, formerly of Kingsland, passed away on Oct. 2, 2013. He was born to William McMurrian and Gladys Velma [McNeil] Gray on May 18, 1927 in Lytle, Texas.
Mr. Gray proudly served his country in the United States Navy and Air Force during World War II, Korean conflict and Viet Nam retiring from the Air Force as a Master Sergeant on May 1, 1972 at Ellington AFB, Texas. Following his discharge Mac was employed and retired from the Harris County Sheriff office as a computer programmer, he taught Data Processing at the Manpower school of Business and worked as an engineer for Ameripan Oil in Chicago, Ill.
Mac is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joe of League City, grandchildren, Gene, Allen, Mark, Joshua, Jordan, Shanna, Crystal, Scott and Brandon; siblings, Preston, Jim, Henry, Dee and Mary Nell.
Mac was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Doris Jeanette; son, Tim; and daughters, Karen and Barbara Lynn and Sister Pauline.
Visitations were held at Putnam Funeral Home on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2013 from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at the Walnut United Methodist Church at 11 a.m. with burial following at Lakeland Hills Memorial Park in Burnet. Officiating will be Rev. Grady Roe and the Highland Lakes Honor Guard. An online guest register may be signed at www.PutnamCares.com.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mac’s memory to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Cancer society.
