Mary Willson Beck

Mary M. Willson Beck, 79, of Brazoria (formerly of Bertram) passed away on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013 at Sweeny House in Sweeny. She was born on Jan. 20, 1934 in Texarkana, Ark. to Ed and Luella Willson.
Mary loved gardening and canning and she made the most beautiful quilts imaginable. She was a registered nurse and worked for 25 years at Shriner’s Burn Center in Galveston and then worked for 7 years at Dow Chemical as an Occupational Health Nurse before retiring.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Luella Willson and two brothers, Jim & Bill Willson.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Walter David Beck of Brazoria; daughters Debbie Tate and husband Randy of Angleton, and Denise Eubanks and husband David of Brazoria; grandchildren Jennifer Benner of Madisonville, Janell Massey of West Columbia, Kayla, Ryan and Colton Eubanks of Brazoria, Randa, Heidi and David Tate of Angleton and great grandchildren Taeghan Denbow and Karsynn Massey of West Columbia, Raeleigh, Kyndall and Grant Benner of Madisonville, Ryan and Christian Montgomery of Angleton; brother Robert Willson and wife Joanna of Little Rock, Ark.; four nephews and one niece and several great nephews and nieces.
A memorial service in Mary’s honor will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 4pm at the First United Methodist Church in Bertram with Rev. Chris Bistline officiating.
A special thank you to the staff of Sweeny House for the care and special attention that they gave Mary.
