LCRA staff to ask for drought order extension

AUSTIN — The staff of the Lower Colorado River Authority will ask its board of directors today to approve another extension of the current emergency drought order that curtails water for rice farmers in the river’s lower basin, the authority’s key water operations official said Tuesday.
