A Tornado struck three houses near Bertram Thursday evening but emergency authorities said there were no injuries.

Burnet County emergency management coordinator Jim Barho said the houses in the area of  RR 1174 and RR 963 near Briggs were damaged at about 8:30 p.m. as violent weather struck Central Texas and the Highland Lakes region.

Emergency personnel and at least one trained tornado spotter who was in the area when the house was struck confirmed it was a tornado, Barho said.

There were also reported sightings of tornados in Watson and in the Buchanan Dam but Barho said he had no confirmation that they were in fact tornados.

Rainfall over two inches was reported in Marble Falls, Burnet and Kingsland. Other areas reported an inch or more. Power outages  were reported in the Granite Shoals area.
